What
type of massage do you perform?
Relaxation, stress reduction and muscular tension relief
massage.
Do
you work with pain and other medical problems or provide
only stress reduction?
We only provide non-medical based massage. For medical
problems you should consult with your physician. You
may experience some relief from soreness during our
sessions.
Do
you specialize in working with any particular area of
the body?
Our sessions cover:
• head
• arms
• hands
• chest (if requested)
• stomach (if requested)
• legs
• feet
• back
• neck
Are
there any medical conditions where we do not provide
a massage?
During our visit you will be asked a few questions about
any known health issues. This is for the clients protection
because of the massage contraindications. (For some
health issues massage is not recommended)
Do
you work with pregnant women?
Yes we can provide this service but are limited to which
techniques that can be used during the session.
What
are your educational backgrounds?
We are certified by a British Columbia Post Secondary
Approved School for bodywork. A blend of Lomi Lomi,
Swedish, Reflexology, Acupressure and Shiatsu techniques
are used. We have completed the requirements for Ethics
& Professionalism, Hiv/Aids Awareness and Ethics,
Medical Error Prevention and Sports Medicine for the
Massage Therapists required by The National Certification
Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork.
Are You Covered By Medical Insurance in BC?
No. There has been changes to the BC Medicare system
under the present government and our services are not
covered. We are bodyworkers and our clients come for
relaxation sessions.
Do I Have To Take Off My Clothes for the massage
sessions?
You need to be undressed to your comfort level. Some
prefer to take their clothes off while many leave their
underwear on. For example, head, hands and feet sessions,
require only partial undress. You will be covered under
a blanket and sheets except for the area being massaged.
We will make adjustments to each persons needs to provide
you with a relaxed and comfortable experience is our
goal.
What is Bodywork?
Bodywork refers to any treatment where one engages in
the science and healing arts that use manual actions
to palpate and manipulate the soft tissue of the human
body, including muscles, connective tissue, tendons,
ligaments, and joints. A bodyworker does not include
making a medical diagnosis or instructing in or prescribing
rehabilitative strengthening or conditioning exercises
that are within the practice of physical therapy.
